Why I’ve Been On Hiatus

It’s been awhile since I checked in on here. The truth is life just decided to hit hard. When it rains, it most often pours, and that’s what happened to me.

Our family went through grief, sickness, busy schedules, and medical issues. As soon as I thought things would settle, something else happened and it all started again. I’ve gotten pretty used to this being my “normal” but it doesn’t ever change the fact that I find it exhausting and frustrating. In these moments when I feel like I can’t take any more I often find myself turning to music to pull me through it.

From a young age I found solace and comfort in music. I loved being able to put on a song and just disappear into it. I could feel all the emotions overwhelm me and they helped navigate me through some very hard times of life. I find that now, as an adult, I have to remind myself to return to my roots. I’m responsible for other lives now, but I need to hold onto my lifelines as well. Music is my lifeline. There is nothing greater than the power of a great song.

So this is me dipping my toes back into this space. Reminding myself that music is one of my coping mechanisms and that I need to make space for it. I hope you join me on this journey, wherever it brings us.

Let the music heal you.
